Blue Knights IL VI was Re- Chartered December 26th 2006 and is based in Effingham County Illinois. The Blue Knights® Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club is a non-profit fraternal organization consisting of active and retired law enforcement men & women who enjoy riding motorcycles. Illinois Chapter VI is part of the Great Lakes Regional Conference. We are based in south central Illinois where I-70 crosses I-57, chartered out of Effingham County. We have just over 39 members from Effingham, Fayette, and surrounding counties. Officers in our chapter come from various city and county departments, the Illinois State Police, and the Illinois Department of Corrections. A handfull are retired but most are actively employed law enforcment officers, proudly serving our communities. Membership is only open to sworn Law Enforcement Officers that ride a personal motorcycle. Membership Qualifications are as follows:   Be an active full or part time law enforcement officer with powers of arrest. Be employed by a governmental agency and receive monetary compensation, or be a retired or disabled former law enforcement officer. Possess a valid license to operate a motorcycle. Own a motorcycle or plan to purchase one within six months.  Blue Knights IL VI hold regular meetings  each month at 6pm, we also attempt to do at least 1 fun ride a month to a different destination set up by the chapter road captain. We also hold several fund raisers each year to help with different local orginizations in the area. Please check our online calendar for upcomming events.
